🚨 Season 4 Priority Registration Is Almost Here 🚨

Spring is just around the corner... and if you've played with us before, you already know what that means.

Season 4 is our biggest season of the year.

The weather warms up, everyone crawls out of hibernation, and leagues fill up faster than your mate says, "Yeah, I'll transfer you tonight."

If you want your team back on the field this Spring, now's the time to get your ducks in a row.

Here's everything you need to know. 👇

🗓 Priority Registration Dates

Priority Registration OPENS
🕛 Monday 7th September – 12:00PM (Midday)

Your team captain will receive a unique Priority Registration link. It can only be used once, so make sure your team is organised before registration opens.

Priority Registration CLOSES
🕛 Monday 14th September – 12:00PM (Midday)

At 12:01PM, any remaining spots will be released to the general public and all waitlisted teams will begin filling available places.

No deposits. No rain checks. Once Tuesday's gone, it's gone.

💳 Deposits Are Back

Monday and Wednesday through until Priority Registration closes, you'll be able to secure your place with a deposit.

That means you can lock in your team's spot now and pay the remaining balance one week before your league begins.

Individual registrations will also open during Priority Week, meaning you can reserve your place in the league before registrations open to everyone else.

We'll sort the teams, you just bring the good vibes.

Jump on the waitlist.

Every league will have a waitlist available throughout Priority Week, giving teams and individuals the chance to secure any remaining places once public registrations open at 12:01PM on Monday 14th September.

Every year, Spring is our busiest season by a long way.

The most popular leagues often sell out during Priority Week, so don't leave it until the last minute.

Have a chat with the team, lock in your numbers, choose your captain, and get everything sorted before registration opens.

💜 Play It Forward: Supporting Friends with Dignity

It’s time for another Play It Forward donation, and this season our community has chosen Friends with Dignity as our charity partner.

For those who haven’t heard about Play It Forward, here’s how it works:

Every season, a portion of every Urban Rec Australia registration goes into a community fund. At the end of the season, our League Champions and our Fun Points Champions get to decide where that money goes by voting for a charity partner.

This season, they chose Friends with Dignity, an incredible organisation supporting adults and children rebuilding their lives after escaping domestic and family violence.

Through practical support, financial assistance, essential household items, education programs and scholarships, Friends with Dignity helps create safety, stability and dignity for people who need it most.

Thanks to every team that got involved this season, we're incredibly proud to donate $2,238 to support their work. 💜

One of the things we love most about Play It Forward is that it's driven by our community. Winning your league or topping the Fun Points ladder doesn't just earn you bragging rights – it gives you the opportunity to help make a real difference.

A huge thank you to every Urban Rec member who contributes to initiatives like this simply by showing up and playing each week.

Play It Forward: Every Game You Play Makes a Difference

Proud moment for Access Social Sport Inc. ❤️

As part of our Play It Forward initiative powered by Urban Rec, we recently donated $1,947 to Orange Sky Australia

For those who haven’t heard about Play It Forward, here’s how it works:

Every season, a portion of every Urban Rec Australia registration goes into a community fund. At the end of the season, our League Champions and our Fun Points Champions get to decide where that money goes by voting for a charity partner.

This season, the community chose Orange Sky Australia, an incredible organisation creating genuine connection and support for people doing it tough through free laundry, shower services, and conversations that matter.

Even better, we made the donation during Orange Sky’s Double the Difference Day, where donations were matched dollar for dollar. That turned our $1,947 donation into a total impact of $3,894.

The campaign itself raised over $1.2 million nationally. Absolutely massive effort from everyone involved.

One of the best parts of social sport is that it can be about far more than just what happens on the field. Community matters. Inclusion matters. Looking after each other matters.

Huge thanks to every Urban Rec member who unknowingly contributes to initiatives like this just by showing up each week for a hit around with their mates.

Turns out social sport can do some pretty cool stuff too….

We’re getting more girls in the game. One league at a time

At Urban Rec, we’ve always been about more than just sport. We’re about creating spaces where everyone feels welcome, included, and keen to get involved, whether you’ve been playing your whole life or you’re just giving it a crack for the first time.

That’s why we’re launching Girls in the Game: an initiative designed to get more women participating in social sport and feeling confident stepping onto the field.

Why we’re doing this

We’ve taken a look across our leagues and noticed something pretty clear; in some sports, women are still underrepresented. And while Urban Rec is built on inclusivity, we know there can still be barriers that stop people from signing up.

Whether it’s cost, confidence, or just not having a team to join, we want to help remove those hurdles.
So we’re doing something about it.

What is Girls in the Game?

For the MONTH OF MAY, we’re offering 50% off female individual registrations in selected leagues where participation is lower.

The goal is simple:
👉 Make it easier to join
👉 Create more balanced leagues
👉 Build an even better vibe across the board

Because when more people feel comfortable jumping in, everyone wins.

Where can you play?

We’ve applied this offer to a range of sports where we’d love to see more women getting involved:

  • 🏐 Netball-7s
     
  • ⚽ Multisport 
     
  • 🏓 Pickleball 

Each of these leagues are designed to be social, beginner-friendly, and all about good vibes! No pressure, no egos, just play.

No team? No worries.

One of the biggest barriers we hear is: “I don’t have a team.”
That’s exactly why we offer individual registrations. We’ll slot you into a team of legends who are in the same boat: there to meet people, have a run around, and enjoy the night.

Play It Forward: Every Game You Play Makes a Difference

At Urban Rec, we love a good game. But we love making an impact even more. That’s why we created Play It Forward, our epic Australia-wide charity initiative that turns every single registration into a chance to do some good in the world.

Every season, we pick four incredible charities to feature. These aren’t just any charities, they’re causes that our members care about, from grassroots community support to big-picture health and environmental programs.

And here’s the kicker: it’s the members who decide who gets the donation. That’s right. At the end of the season, the winning Captains (both league and fun point champs) get to choose which of the four charities receives the funds. So every game you play is actually helping make a difference!!

How It Works
  1. 💳 Register a Team 
    Every registration contributes a portion of the fee to the Play It Forward campaign. It’s automatic, you don’t need to do a thing.
     
  2. 🤸 Play Your Season 
    Keep the fun points rolling! Win games, have a laugh, and lead your team with style. All those efforts count toward who will pick the charity at the end of the season.
     
  3. 🏅 Winning Captains Choose the Charity
    When the season wraps up, the league champs and top fun points Captains get the ultimate power move: picking which of the four charities receives the donation. It’s fun, competitive, and meaningful because it’s your team, your season, and your choice.
     
  4. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Impact Made 
    The chosen charity receives a donation from your season’s registrations, helping them do what they do best. And just like that, your games don’t just build skills, friendships, and banter, they build real-world impact.

Play It Forward isn’t just a campaign. It’s proof that sport can be more than fun and friendly competition, it can be a force for good. By empowering our members to choose where the donations go, we’re making the impact personal. And let’s be honest, it makes winning even sweeter when you know it’s for a great cause.
