👥 How many players are on a team?
Each team has seven players: two forwards, three midfielders, and two backs. You need at least two male and two female players. The remaining players can be any gender. Subs are allowed anytime during the game if they have signed the waiver and created an Urban Rec account.

How long is a game?
Games are played in two halves of 18 to 20 minutes with a short break at halftime.

🎯 How do we score?
A goal is worth six points if kicked between the middle posts. A behind is worth one point if kicked between the side posts. Only two designated forwards and one scoring midfielder can score, and goals must be kicked from inside the forward zone.

🏁 How does the game start?
The game begins with a ball up between two centre players in midfield. The ball must be tapped or palmed, not punched or grabbed. All players must start in their zones.

📦 How do we move the ball?
You can move the ball by handball or kick. Bounces are allowed once only and must be taken every fifteen metres if you run with the ball. A five metre kick is required for a mark.

🔄 When does a turnover happen?
Turnovers happen when the ball goes out of bounds, drops from a mark, or hits the ground from a poor pass. The other team takes possession from where it landed. You cannot score directly from a turnover.

🖐️ What is a mark?
A mark happens when a player catches a clean kick that travels at least five metres. No contact is allowed during the contest. The defender may stand on the mark, and the host will call play on if you delay.

🚷 Can I score from anywhere?
No. Goals must be scored from inside the forward zone and only by designated scoring players. You cannot score from out of bounds, from a turnover, or by anyone not wearing a sash or bib.

🛑 What counts as a foul?
Aussie Rules is non contact. No pushing, grabbing, bumping, shepherding, tripping, or touching another player while they have the ball. All dispossessions must be done with a clear two handed touch.
